The Challenge:
I was contracted with Petaluma-based muffler manufactuer HushPower Corp. as sales and product development consultant. During this period, the auto industry was undergoing strict compliance requirements to meet federal CAFE regulations. Weight reduction was key in meeting these standards. Ford was looking for a way to meet the CAFE regulations. Then, during a fortuitous bathroom break, one of their exhaust systems engineers happened across our ad in a trade publicaton.
The Solution:
I secured the development contract with Ford. Our muffler provided substantial weight savings and improved engine performance, all while meeting federal noise level standards.
